If requested a thin layer of Acrylic can be extruded on the back side for rigidizing. It offers good weatherability, chemical resistance, and high gloss with good DOI. Applications: This product is ideal for outdoor applications such as marine, ATV, RV, Tub & Shower Surrounds or anything where the above characteristics are required. Processing: Forming conditions for this product are: Surface Temperature =300-390° F Mold Temperature = 110-185° F Plug Temperature = 220-300° F De-mold = 200° F Mold Shrink = .005 - .008 in/in Primary side of sheet should not be heated as much as the secondary side. Finishing: Parts from this product may be joined with machine screws, bolts, nuts, and washers, rivets and spring steel fasteners. Thread cutting or thread-forming screws are an economical means of securing separate parts. Press and snap techniques, sonic welding and chemical bonding may also be used. Please contact your Primex Plastics representative for more information on finishing, fabricating, or the thermoforming process. Colors, Textures and Capabilities: There are many colors available, however, please check with your Primex representative for specific colors. Typically this product is smooth, however, there are several patterns available, such as haircell, calfgrain & levant. |

The acrylic cap imparts a very high gloss, vibrant colors with superior depth of image, excellent UV protection, chemical resistance, toughness and excellent formability. Applications: The performance features of Prime ABS Weather-X 200 make it the material of choice for applications, including marine, personal watercraft, recreational vehicles, lawn/garden, building/construction and automotive accessories. Processing: Surface Temp = 325-360°F Mold Temp = 150-175°F De-mold @ 170°F Mold shrink is .004-.008 in/in. ABS may absorb greater amounts of radiant energy than acrylic; thus, surface temperatures may increase more rapidly. Care should be taken to maintain the surface temperature at 325°F-360°F to avoid blistering, burning and color/gloss shift of the acrylic cap. Finishing: Prime ABS Weather-X 200 can be joined using mechanical methods such as bolts, screws or clamps, or chemical methods such as cementing. When drilling coextruded sheet with an acrylic modified drill bit, be sure to exit from the acrylic side but when drilling with a standard bit, be sure to have the bit exit from the substrate side. For accuracy and safety, Prime ABS Weather-X 200 should be clamped during drilling. Please contact your Primex Plastics representative for more information on finishing, fabricating, or the thermoforming process. Colors, Textures and Capabilities: Prime ABS Weather-X 200 can be color matched to meet your specific requirements. The surface is typically high gloss but textures such as calf grain, H/C, F/L H/C, Levant 1 and Seville are available. |
